Alex is one of the most fluent programmers I
know. He is able to pick up languages with relative ease. In the short time that I had an
opportunity to work with him, he had learned Delphi, VB and Visual C++.
Alex was one of the people I went to whenever, I
needed something complicated completed quickly and with quality. The only thing I had to
do was be his tester. It's funny when "unwanted features" were found, he would
apologize. Figure on that. From my experience most programmers would be swearing or
blaming something else.
Everyone talks about ease of use, well Alex's
programs were examples of just that. His reporting applications were so easy to use that
my grandmother could use it without any help. The transactional applications he created
had enough error checking to choke a horse. He has gone off in the opposite direction,
writing low level compression C++ stuff - BLAH !!!
I know that wherever Alex works that he will be
very successful. He possesses not only the ability but the character. He doesn't drink
Coke or Jolt when he's working late into the morning. He just gets it done, period.
He came here from the Ukraine with his wife and
daughter. He says his daughter's English is better than his. I won't worry too much Alex.
She'll probably be teaching you all of the slang's by next year. Just joking.
